HeyShape vs. SKIMS vs. Spanx: Which Shapewear’s Compression Squeezes Out the Competition?

For the longest time, I believed that shapewear was uncomfortable and unnecessary. Then my FYP served up some seriously snatched waists, and the reality hit me that I’ve been hiding from my hottest potential. That’s on me.

There are so many options for slimming shapewear out there…the been-around-forever Spanx, the trendy SKIMS, and HeyShape with the wowing before-and-afters. I assumed they all had pros and cons, so I stocked up and shimmied my sweet self into each. Here’s what I learned:

Shapewear under everyday clothes—or, honestly, worn as a tank with jeans—is absolutely stunning and super in right now. First of all, it gave me no definition; I looked like a tube. And its design looks like an undergarment, so it needed to be covered, and its silhouette felt a little outdated to me.

I’ve been living life in my HeyShape bodysuit and absolutely loving it.
